Chapter 141

The first date

Mai shifted, as her legs were slowly getting numb from sitting motionlessly. The silence was being interrupted only by the sounds of munching, as she and Sesshomaru were eating their meals. It was a pure miracle, that she managed to swallow her food, while watching her demonic husband chewing on raw hearts. Apparently one can get used to everything. From time to time their gazes met, but only to part after a while. Somehow, the girl couldn’t bring herself to feel the romantic mood, when she was sitting in front of the demon, who was calmly devouring the raw hearts. The way his fangs were flashing in the dim candlelight was simply disturbing and creepy. The surroundings were fine, the bouquet was sweet, but the whole atmosphere was too stiff, mainly thanks to Sesshomaru. The inu-youkai was sitting nearly motionless with the face of a warrior right before a battle. If only he relaxed a bit… She had the impression, that he was treating this courting as a tedious task, which had to be done.

Sesshomaru was warily observing the source of all his troubles. So far she was calm and reasonable, her behavior proper. However, there was no progress. Conversation. He had to begin a conversation. The demon frowned, angry at himself, that he could not think of a good topic. He glanced at Mai and their gazes met – she was looking at him expectantly.

“I believe, that Naraku will be killed very soon.” He blurted out, choosing the first topic, that appeared in his mind.

“Really?” Mai asked, faking interest. “We should be careful, though. I have the feeling, that Naraku is plotting something again.”

“As he always is.” Sesshomaru muttered, feeling foolish because of continuing the pointless conversation.

“He is.” Mai agreed, peeking inside a basket. However, nothing was left, so she couldn’t occupy herself by munching. Then she sighed. She had a feeling, that the date was going in a horribly wrong direction.

“I can’t believe, that we are talking about Naraku.” She suddenly voiced her honest opinion. Sesshomaru glanced at her, but said nothing. Mai sighed again, before admitting. “I can’t think of anything better.”

The dog demon slowly let out a breath, he was holding unknowingly.

“Neither can I.” he said.

The girl giggled, hearing Sesshomaru’s confession.

“You’re just as nervous as me, aren’t you?” she asked the demon, correctly guessing the reason for his stiff behavior. Her amusement only grew, when her husband sent her a meaningful look.

“This Sesshomaru is not nervous.” He protested seriously, but Mai laughed only more.

“Don’t even try lying. It’s showing on your face.” She pointed out, making Sesshomaru’s scowl grow.

A happy smile flickered on Mai’s lips, as she was looking on the pouting demon. “Don’t worry about that. You did great. There were some minor flaws, but overall it was good.”

“Hn.” The inu-youkai muttered, feeling humiliated, that his distress had been found out. However, the woman praised him as well, what boosted his male pride and compensated the humiliation.
Mai reached to the basket and took out a shuttle with tea and two cups.

“Tea?” she asked. Her husband nodded and let her pour him and herself tea. Mai let out a relieved breath, finally feeling at ease. She never expected a date to be that stressful, especially if it was a date with a man, who was already her husband. Thankfully the atmosphere had cleared. She took a sip of tea and looked at Sesshomaru. “You’re just not talkative, aren’t you?”
The dog demon’s golden eyes met hers, as he arched his eyebrow.

“I have no need, as you are loud for both of us.” He retorted, making Mai’s face go red.

“I’m not!” she exclaimed and then covered her mouth, realizing, that she just screamed at him. She sighed heavily. “It must be a nuisance for you.”

“Nonsense.” Sesshomaru said, amusement flickering in his eyes. “It is entertaining at times.”

Mai faked a pout and rolled her eyes. He was making fun of her again. Well, she got used to this already. Feeling, that the tension between them disappeared, the girl motioned herself to sit closer to Sesshomaru.

The dog demon narrowed his eyes at the female, who might have just gave him a positive sign. Using the rare opportunity, he put the cup away and delicately covered her small palm with his big clawed hand. The woman stiffened, when he touched her skin, but made no move to whisk her hand away. She bit her lower lip, nervous. Sesshomaru could hear well, that her heartbeat suddenly quickened and she shivered slightly. She was staring intently at her knees. After a moment she entwined her fingers with his.

Mai hesitantly lifted her head and stole a glance at her husband and felt her bottom lip tremble from the nervousness and excitement. It was only holding hands, but this time it got her fazed. Maybe it was just the atmosphere of a date… Her eyes didn’t leave Sesshomaru’s golden ones, as he motioned himself closer to her. Her heart felt like escaping her chest. She could just sit there, motionless and mesmerized, anticipating him to make a move. She didn’t resist him, when he let go of her hand and gently lifted her chin. She slowly closed her eyes, waiting. Mai trembled, when she felt the demon’s hot breath on her face, so close.

The inu-youkai leaned over her and delicately brushed his lips against hers. He felt a shiver course through the female’s body, but she showed no will to escape. Sesshomaru brushed her hair out of her face, before teasing her again. She trembled this time too, but she parted her lips slightly. The demon smiled to himself, seeing her apprehensive agreement and firmly pressed his lips against Mai’s.

The girl stiffened, while being kissed for the very first time. At first she was confused by the foreign sensation and tried to pull back, simply out of habit, but Sesshomaru’s hand slid from cheek and snaked to the back of her head. Now, when she was held still, with no possibility to break the kiss swiftly, the demon tilted his head more, making the kiss more passionate. Mai clutched the edge of his armor, shivering all the time and hearing her heart pumping the blood at the amazing speed. Feeling Sesshomaru’s lips move against her own wasn’t bad. She was slightly bewildered, but it was enjoyable. Her head was spinning, the mind was going blank, leaving only the heat, that started developing in her body and the amazing sensation of the kiss.

Finally the demon pulled back, allowing Mai to catch a breath. The girl’s eyes opened and she moved back a bit, startled, by what had just happened. Feeling still a little in shock, she covered her mouth with the palm, staring at Sesshomaru. Then, the surprise and the remnants of the dazed expression vanished from her eyes, as she narrowed her eyes at her husband, who happened to be a hellishly good kisser, by the way. Not that she had any comparison. Anyway, the wretched demon was smirking with self-satisfaction, swelling with male pride.

“I can see, that it was worth to court you.” He said in an arrogant tone.

Mai rolled her eyes at his behavior – it was just like Sesshomaru. He just had to spoil this moment for her. When he saw his spouse making faces at him, he reached out and pulled her closer to himself. She huffed, but was not resisting, as he embraced her from the back. The demon rested his chin on the top of her head and they stayed in such position. Mai was horribly embarrassed at first, but soon she relaxed and leaned on Sesshomaru. She closed her eyes.

Then, she yelped, as the dog demon suddenly pushed her from behind.

“Gah!” she exclaimed, landing on the blanket on all fours.

She had no idea, what got into Sesshomaru to embrace her gently at first, only to shove her away a while later. She heard the clank of removed armor. Then, mortified, she realized, that he wasn’t shoving her away at all. Quite the opposite – he was coming closer. The girl gasped from shock, when the demon climbed over her, pressing himself against her back. Her eyes widened, when she realized, in what position they were right now. She tried to make a run, but it was impossible to get away from under Sesshomaru.

“Be calm, wife.” She heard him muttering, before applying pressure on her back, so that her arms in elbows bent, making her position only more shameful and awfully suggestive.

“Let go!” she breathed out, but Sesshomaru reacted on her demand by pulling the hem of her kimono down. The fabric tore and she felt the chilly night breeze on her exposed shoulders and back. Mai stiffened even more and clutched the blanket, on which she was laying.

“Do not be afraid.” Sesshomaru gently assured his hesitating spouse.

Then he slowly leaned down and lazily began placing kisses on Mai’s shoulder blades. Mai was writhing and twisting under him, but he did not let it bother him too much. Actually her moves were arousing him more, as her adorable bottom kept rubbing against his crotch. He closed his eyes and concentrated on caressing his wife. The courting went surprisingly well – she did not resist at all, when he managed to finally kiss her. However, such an innocent kiss was too little for him. He wanted to feel more of her and bring his wife more pleasure at the same time. Sesshomaru assumed, that if she was so willing to give in to a kiss, she was ready for more as well.

Mai clenched her teeth, when the damnable demon moved his damp tongue along her spine. She couldn’t help, but claw at the blanket and shiver. The disturbing thought was, that she wasn’t shivering from disgust – the wretched asshole was somehow getting her aroused against her own will. She desperately tried to crawl from under him, but Sesshomaru’s hold was too firm.

“Stop…” she breathed out, protesting again, but the demon only glued himself to her tighter and was sucking the sensitive skin on the back of her neck.

Being stripped off the other means to beat into her husband’s thick skull, that she didn’t want to be raped at her first date, she outstretched her arm till her fingertips touched the edge of the bamboo shuttle. Once she got it, she hit Sesshomaru with it, putting all the force in this. As he was intending to begin kissing the side of her neck, the demon received a blow squarely in his face. The shuttle cracked, but of course the youkai’s face remained intact, more or less. The only difference was, that he frowned, surprised and displeased by the attack.

“What are you doing, woman?” he demanded, still pining her in the weird position.

Mai snorted.

“And how does it look like to you? I’m defending myself from a certain rapist.” She retorted.

Sesshomaru furrowed his brows, slightly backing himself away from the girl, just enough to make it possible for her to glare at him over her shoulder.

“I am not raping you.” He stated, slightly annoyed, that his wife accused him falsely.

“You are!” Mai exclaimed.

“I am not.” Sesshomaru ping-ponged. The girl sighed with irritation, fueled by the awkward situation – she was still on her fours with him sprawled on her.

“Then, according to you, what were you doing?” she demanded, feeling like strangling the damn demon. Shit, she was beginning to assume his bad habits already.

“Consummating our marriage.” Sesshomaru answered slowly. Mai let out a pained noise, dismayed by her husband’s behavior.

“That was supposed to come AFTER the courting!” she nearly yelled.

“I have already courted you. Successfully.” The demon retorted, not understanding, why his wife kept on arguing him, when the situation was so obvious – he courted her, she had showed him, that she accepted him, so she should have been at last ready for the consummation of the marriage.

Mai groaned, defeated by her husband’s fantastic logic.

“It was the first date! You suck at courting! Now, get off me.” She snapped, angry, that the asshole thought, that if he kissed her, he could do anything. Seriously didn’t he know what delicacy was?

Sesshomaru backed off, angry that his haste ruined such a good opportunity. It was like taking a step forward, only to make three backwards next.

“Hmpf!” Mai huffed and got up. She sent him an angered look and turned on her heel, marching towards the camp. Then, she changed her mind and returned to Sesshomaru, who was fastening the leather straps of his armor. Well… he was a horrible horny jerk with no tact, but at least he was trying. All in all he wanted to get into her pants, but the girl appreciated, that this time he thought of something more elaborate than threats. She folded her arms and cleared the throat.

“The date was quite good, of course until you spoiled it. Good luck next time.” She said a little bit too stiffly and marched away, leaving dumbfounded Sesshomaru.

The next day

Jaken sighed heavily. His life was miserable, mainly thanks to some married couple, who wasn’t able to cope with their problems on their own. The last night, when Mai returned alone, stomping and scowling, he was sure that his brilliant plan failed and he’d lose his head. Literarily. But, surprisingly, when Sesshomaru-sama demanded to speak with him, he only ordered him to devise another plan. This time, it required from the master some acting skills, what made the whole plan risky. However, it was worth trying, as Mai wouldn’t fall for courting anymore, thanks to the dog demon’s impatient nature.

Their group was marching eastwards. Mai and Rin were sitting on Ah-Un’s back, chatting. Jaken glanced at Sesshomaru-sama’s wife and then he cleared his throat, giving his master a discreet sign. It was the time to begin the performance.

Sesshomaru stopped abruptly, grabbing Tenseiga’s hilt and feeling like an idiot. If this plan failed, he would melt Jaken with his poison claws.

As expected, Mai reacted to the gesture. She embraced Rin tighter and clutched the reins, alarmed.
“Something’s wrong?” she asked nervously, flinging her leg over the dragon’s back, so that she would be prepared for an escape. The dog demon wasn’t answering for a longer while.

“Jaken, take Mai and the children out of here.” He finally spoke, his voice sounding strangely stiff and fake, though. The girl noticed, that he used her name, what was unusual for him. The imp nodded and ushered Kohaku on the saddle. He took reins from Mai and motioned Ah-Un to fly away. Mai and Rin were sending Sesshomaru worried looks.

“I hope, he’ll be all right.” Mai muttered. Rin flashed an optimistic smile at the older girl.

“Of course he will. He’s very strong!” the kid exclaimed surely, nodding, as though to make her words more believable. Kohaku furrowed his brows – apparently something was troubling him.

“I didn’t sense any other demons in the vicinity.” He shared his observation, gaining a scolding look from Jaken.

“It doesn’t mean, that the dangerous youkai aren’t there.” The imp said firmly, glaring at the boy, for he wanted to stop the sharp kid from blurting out anything more, that could ruin his plan.

Once Jaken took the humans away, Sesshomaru followed his servant’s foolish advice. He took out his armor and stomped on it forcefully, damaging it, till it was cracked and had holes. Once it looked battered, he let out a breath and carved with his claws a fairly deep scratch on his chest – it was only a flesh wound, nothing, that could not heal completely before the nightfall. Twisting his arm, he did this to his back to. After a moment of consideration he scratched his thigh too. He glanced down and was satisfied with the result – the scratched wound were shallow, but they managed to stain his clothes enough to create an impression, that it was a serious injury. Then, he put the chirped armor on and leapt into the air, flying after his companions. He picked up the speed, as he felt the scratches already healing.

When Jaken spotted a safe place and ushered Ah-Un to land, Mai stayed on the beast’s back, just in case they would have to flee. She embraced Rin and waited.

“Ah-Un, do you smell him?” she asked the dragon for the, like it seemed, hundredth time. The dragon shook his head, but only few minutes passed. She was waiting, almost as tense as Jaken, who was simply scared to lose his head if another of his plans failed – he prayed for the inu-youkai not to screw it up this time.

Then Ah-Un roared loudly, swishing his tail. Mai squinted her eyes and saw a silhouette, gliding across the sky towards their group. She recognized Sesshomaru and smiled slightly, happy, that the idiot didn’t get himself killed. However, once he landed, the smile fell from her face. Both Mai’s and Rin’s faces turned white, when the two girls saw the dog demon – battered, his armor in pieces, the once white clothing was blood-soaked and torn, there was blood everywhere.

Jaken glanced discreetly at Mai and smirked under her nose, seeing, that his companion was concerned. The plan could be a success. Now Mai should rush to dress Sesshomaru-sama’s wounds and he, Jaken, would have to just take the kids away. However, not everything went as planned.

“Sesshomaru-sama!” Rin called, worry all over the face.

The child swiftly slipped off Ah-Un’s back and darted towards the dog demon as quick as her short legs could carry her. Jaken let out a startled croak and reached out with his hand, as though he wanted to use the force to turn the little girl back.

In the meantime Mai was keeping her cool head. Instead of instantly running to the wounded husband, as every gentle lady should, she calmly dismounted and began searching the contents of the packs for the first-aid-kit, she had prepared earlier for such emergencies. She even took out a rag, which turned out to hide a large bottle of strongest sake inside. Jaken furrowed his brows – he didn’t know, that she had been hiding sake. If only he knew… that was probably the reason she had been hiding it. Once Mai had her arms full with the items she needed, she made her way towards the dog demon, who was under the siege, for Rin refused to leave his side, even when Sesshomaru was discreetly showing her to go away.

Jaken suddenly remembered his important role and grabbed Ah-Un’s reins.

“Kohaku, Rin, come on. Let’s grant Sesshomaru-sama some privacy.” He called to the children. Kohaku, the nice and obedient boy he was, listened right away and followed him. However, it wasn’t that easy with Rin. The little girl shook her head and glued herself to the dog demon, clutching the hem of his torn haori.

“I’ll stay with Sesshomaru-sama too.” The child decided stubbornly, speaking in a way, that resembled Mai’s usual behavior. Jaken sighed. The older girl had just bad influence on the child.

“Rin-chan, no discussions!” the imp called to the kid. “Don’t be defiant!”

“I’m not! I’m ass… asse… assembly!” Rin shouted back.

“It’s assertive, Rin. Assertive.” Mai corrected the little girl, before turning her full attention to Sesshomaru. His clothing and armor were in such a poor state, that it was difficult to assess, where exactly his wounds were. She furrowed her brows and passed her first-aid-kit to Rin. “Here, you’ll help me a little, okay?”

“Okay”. The child replied solemnly, nodding.

Jaken and Sesshomaru-sama exchanged glances. It was bad. He was supposed to be with Mai alone. However, now hardly anything could be done to save the day. And so, the imp did the wisest thing – he evacuated himself, dragging Kohaku and Ah-Un after himself.

Mai bit her lower lip, looking at her patient, who didn’t say a word since he had arrived. How did he end up like that? He looked terrible.

“You’re a mess.” She didn’t hesitate to inform him, when she stepped closer and unfastened the leather straps, that were holding the armor in place. The demon looked away, for some unknown reason unable to look her in the face, and let her do, what she needed to. Once the armor was off, Mai hissed with compassion, as it looked even worse.

“Sit down. I have to take a look at those wounds.” She told him.

“Hn.” The demon muttered and obeyed, what was unusual for him.

Then, she carefully took off both his inner and outer haori. As being undressed by his woman should be pleasurable, Sesshomaru could not enjoy it, mostly because of Rin’s presence. He had a terrible suspicion, that the child will grow to be just as stubborn and troublesome as his dear spouse.

“Water and cloth.” Mai commanded, like a surgeon in an operating room.

“Here!” Rin replied, swiftly passing the older girl the items, she required.

Mai began carefully washing the blood off Sesshomaru’s naked torso. Gradually it began looking better than at the beginning, for it turned out, that there was a lot of blood, but few wounds.
Thankfully neither of them seemed to be dangerous for the demon’s life. Most of them, including a scratch on his leg, had closed already. She sighed.

“Dear god, Sesshomaru, be more careful next time. You scared us to death.” Mai said, finishing the washing. But, the term “scrubbing” would be more appropriate.

The inu-youkai glanced at her. It was well, that she was concerned, just as she should be, but it was not how Jaken planned. Sesshomaru winced, when his back suddenly felt like it was on fire. He glared over the shoulder and saw, that Mai was calmly pouring sake at his wound, mercilessly disinfecting it.

“It’ll sting for a while.” She said, patiently carrying on her ministrations. “It’s better not to risk an infection, even if you are a demon.”

“Can I try to?” Rin asked.

“Sure.” Mai agreed, passing the bottle to the child with a smile. “Just pour it on the wound.”

The child stole a look at Sesshomaru, who looked very displeased by the treatment, he was receiving. She wrinkled her forehead and gazed at Mai.

“You sure?” she asked with doubt in her brown eyes. The older girl shrugged, while taking out the bandages and gauzes.

“Yes. Don’t worry. Sesshomaru is a tough guy.”

Rin nodded and emptied the bottle’s contents on the wound on the chest.

The dog demon frowned, as he was being mistreated by both his wife and ward under the pretense of dressing his wounds. Mai smiled to the little girl.

“Luckily the wounds aren’t deep. They’ll heal on him in no time.” The woman said, behaving as though Sesshomaru wasn’t even here. Rin breathed out with relief and flashed her cutest smile at the inu-youkai.

“That’s good, isn’t it, Sesshomaru-sama?” the child blabbered happily.

“It is.” The demon muttered in response, thinking, that this plan was the even worse than the last one. According to Jaken, his wife was supposed to be affectionate, while dressing man’s wounds. However, all what Mai did, could be considered rather a torture. Moreover, she was coaxing Rin into doing the same.

“Now hold here.” Mai gave Rin directions and the child pressed gauzes to Sesshomaru’s scratches, while the older girl skillfully wrapped the bandages around Sesshomaru’s torso, tightening them. Once done, she energetically patted the demon’s naked shoulder, before turning to Rin. “Kiddo, run to Jaken and get the blanket.”

The child nodded and darted off, leaving Mai and Sesshomaru alone. The girl readjusted the bandage a little and sent her husband a questioning look.

“So… you lost, didn’t you?” she asked. The demon instantly averted the gaze, furrowing his brows.

“This Sesshomaru never loses.” He stated firmly, as Mai arched her eyebrow in disbelief. The demon shrugged his shoulders. “I may let my opponent win, but I never lose.”

Mai covered her mouth with the hand, muffling the snort.

“Just like you don’t escape, but strategically retreat?” she asked with humor. Sesshomaru glanced at her. Sesshomaru stood u, glaring at Mai from above, obviously not happy, that she was making fun of him. Then he reached out his hand. The girl grabbed it and the demon yanked her up.

“A warrior must use every strategy possible.” He admitted.

“Was the fight tough?” Mai asked the obvious, before she realized it – Sesshomaru went back bleeding like a pig, so it had to be tough. What a stupid question. “Sorry. So, who was the opponent.”
The dog demon immediately averted his gaze, suddenly finding the trees much more interesting than Mai.

“Naraku.” He named the first enemy, he thought of. He realized, that he made a mistake, when Mai gasped with emotion, circling the inu-youkai, so that she was standing right before him. Now eluding looking her in the eye was more difficult.

“Did he show up personally or was it another minion?” the girl kept asking curiously. Sesshomaru cleared his throat, wishing for her to stop asking.

“Minion.” He said harshly, in a tone, that indicated, that the discussion was over. However, Mai was nosy.

“Which one?” she fired another question at the poor youkai.

“New one.” He retorted, trying to make his lies simple. The girl narrowed her eyes, now even more interested.

“So he made himself another clone.” She muttered to herself, before torturing Sesshomaru further.

“How does this new one look like?”
The demon looked at her, bewildered, before quickly breaking the eye-contact. She was delving too deep.

“Ordinary.” He muttered, feeling slightly lost in his lies. “Like a demon.”

Mai tilted her head, confused. Something was not right. Definitely not right – Sesshomaru’s behavior was weird. She spent with him so much time already, that she learnt, when he was trying to hide something. Evasive answers, avoiding looking her in the eye, the stiff way he was talking… everything was a sign of the demon’s lack of honesty. He was such a bad liar, that it wasn’t hard at all to see him through. Having a hunch, Mai turned around and looked at the chirped armor. It was a mess, true, but… there! An evidence. She whirled around on her heel and glared at Sesshomaru in an ultimate wife-way.

“Sesshomaru,” she began, the tone of her voice indicated, that the demon was in trouble. “Can you please explain to me how it could have happened, that you have such an impressive scratch on your back, while your armor is completely untouched in the very same place?”

The demon stared at her, genuine bewilderment in his golden eyes. Mai’s glare intensified and she regretted, that she didn’t have a frying pan in her hand, because she had the urge to bend it on Sesshomaru’s head. She rested her hands on the hips, clearly expecting an extensive answer.

“Hn.” The inu-youkai turned his head away from her, eluding the humiliating confrontation. It was unexpected, that she managed to learn the truth so quickly, but he had no intension of neither groveling before her or asking her for forgiveness. It was shaming enough, that he had been forced to resort to such dishonest means to bed his own wife. He lifted his chin higher, his pride emanating from him. “Pity, that you did not fall for my trick.”

The color of Mai’s face was violently changing into alarming red, as she clenched her fists.

“Trick?” she repeated slowly, gathering strength for another of her tirades. She took a deep breath.

“You imbecile! Did you know, how much you scared me?! Again! I thought, that it’s serious! I was worrying! Don’t you ever try such stupid joke again!”

Sesshomaru shifted his gaze towards the sky, his gesture dangerously close to rolling his eyes.

“Idiot!” Mai shrieked. The demon was ignoring her monotonous tirade, but…

SLAP!

Sesshomaru was startled, when the woman used all her meager strength to slap him in the right cheek. He gazed at the woman, surprise visible in his golden eyes. She met his gaze, glaring at him vengefully, obviously having proven her point.

“That’s for scaring me.” She hissed out. “Hmpf!”

She whirled on her heel and began walking in the direction, where Jaken was supposed to be. Actually, she nearly bumped into Jaken and the rest of the group, who returned already.

The dog demon was standing motionless, as though he had been just frozen. The cheek, which had been hit, stung, but the red mark was fading quickly. He was staring at Mai’s back. Unexpectedly she turned around and went back. The demon neither said a word to her nor moved, he was simply observing her. The woman approached him and stopped. She looked up at his emotionless face and sighed. Then, she closed the distance between them in one step and took a deep calming breath, as though she was readying herself for a battle.

“So that it would hurt less.” She said quietly, avoiding the eye contact and climbed on her toes.

She closed her eyes and shyly kissed the cheek, she had slapped a moment before. Then, she whirled around again and went back to Ah-Un, nearly running.

Sesshomaru was looking after her, even more confused.

Jaken shot a quick glance at the two and assessed the situation – the plan was a failure, but not completely. He sighed, pitying the hardships, all men had to go through with the women. He trotted to his master and noticed, that he had red trait on his cheek and was knitting his eyebrows with confusion. The imp shook his head.

“She’s a woman, Sesshomaru-sama. You won’t understand her.” Jaken shared his thought on the matter. “It’s safer not even to try.”
